Cepascar Allium Cepa Extract, Heparin Sodium & Allantoin Gel.

Cepascar Gel exhibits bactericidal activity promotes regeneration & limits fibroblast proliferation. Plant Allium cepa Linn. Belongs to the family Liliacee and contains the active agent's kaempferol, B-Sitosterol, Ferulic acid, myritic acid and prostaglandins. When applied to scars, significant improvements in collagen organization have been shown in experimental studies.
Heparin has also been reported to harbor beneficial properties with regard to wound healing. Studies have revealed that heparin has anti-inflammatory, neo-angiogenic, collagen-restoring, epithelialising, anti-adhesive and anti-coagulating effects. Heparin strengthens the anti-inflammatory effects of extractum cepae and can enhance collagen restoration.
Allantoin has been shown to promote cell proliferation (removal of necrotic tissue) and epithelialisation (skin growth) and thereby hastens the growth of new healthy tissue over wounds & sores. Allantoin is also a counter-irritant that helps alleviate skin irritation. Allantoin has emollient and soothing properties and can reduce inflammation.

Contra-Indication:
Cepascar Gel should not be used by patients hypersensitive to parabens or any of its ingredients.
Side effects:
Cepascar Gel is generally well tolerated, even during long-term treatment. Local skin reactions are very rare.
Application:
Unless otherwise prescribed by the physician, Cepascar should be slowly rubbed into the skin or scar 3-4 times daily.
In the case of a hard, old scar, Cepascar may be applied with dressing overnight. Treatment will be necessary for several weeks depending on the size of the existing scar.
